Oz Mulay is an Israeli born choreographer, a contemporary dancer, and currently pursuing a master’s degree at The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
Born in Kiryat Gat in 1985, he studied dance at the Bat Dor Municipal Dance Centre in Be'er Sheva and simultaneously at the summer course at the MATAN Arts & Culture Project for Youth.
Mulay’s choreographic career started in 2010 during his time with KCDC. His curiosity in movement draws him to seek his own way to self-expression through dance.
He believes in the body and in dance as a platform for communication. The inspiration for his work is drawn from life events and experiences that reflect his unique personality along with the society in which he lives.
Technique and simplicity are the keys for his work in orther to combine them both. He emphasized a deep search in every process in order to discover the essence of each piece as an opportunity to create a dialogue with the dancers and the audience.
As a professional dancer, he’s danced with Kamea Contemporary Dance Company, led by Artistic Director Tamir Ginz, and with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC), led by Artistic Director Rami Be’er where Mulay was the Rehearsal Director of the company.
Mulay has also worked with the choreographers Itzik Galili, Ronit Ziv, Ori Ivgi & John Greben, Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Polak, Roy Assaf, Shelly Gonen Segal, Or Abuhav, Lior Lev, and Sonia D`Orleans Juste.
